Welcome to Southwest Bible College!

Southwest Bible College grew out of a vision to establish a college where men and women could be trained for increasing ministry.  My father, Pastor Richard Carlson, a church planter and pastor, established Southwest Bible College in 2000 together with Pastor Paul Zettersten, Pastor and Educator.  Their desire was to develop a center for “Biblical Studies and Ministry Development.”

Richard Carlson served as the President of the College from 2000 to 2021 when he went home to be with the Lord.  Pastor Paul Zettersten served as the Director of Development from 2000 to 2022 when he went to his heavenly reward.

Serving as President of Southwest Bible College, I am privileged to follow in my father’s footsteps.  I am also the lead Pastor at Moreno Christian Assembly, a supporting church that I helped my father plant in 1987.  As an alumnus of Southwest Bible College, graduating in 2005, I appreciate the commitment of the College to provide a quality Bible education, as well as engage students in practical ministry courses and internship experiences.

Our alumni are now serving as Pastors, Youth Pastors, Christian Education Workers, Evangelists, Missionaries, etc.  Others are using their foundation in Bible Studies to be salt and light in their church, home, and workplace.  The College has a growing number of alumni who have gone on to attain advanced seminary-level degrees in various ministry related fields.
